Home Delivery

We can bring the library to your front door! Who is eligible? Non-drivers and those who cannot take the bus, such as:

  • Seniors
  • Those with disabilities
  • Home-bound due to injury or illness
  • Limited social contact due to chronic medical conditions or immunocompromised
  • Must live in Pekin Public Library taxing area

What gets delivered?

  • Most library materials
  • 3-15 items per month
  • Staff selections based on your interests
  • Specific items on request, if available

Children of all abilities—whether neurotypical or not—are welcome at all of our programs.

Dyslexia

Digital books from Libby have a dyslexic font option for easier reading on your e-reader, phone or tablet. How to get started

4 All Programming

Free activities program for adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, including dementia. Each month will have a theme with a brief discussion. Please check the calendar for dates and time.

Deaf/Hard of Hearing

Assistive listening devices/hearing loops are available for those attending programs in the Community Room or Conference Room where speakers are used. Please ask at the Information Desk.

Mobility Aids

A wheeled walker is available for use and can be picked from the Friends of the Library book sale area just inside the building entrance. Ask at the Information Desk for a wheelchair if needed for assistance getting around the building.

Low Vision Services

Low Vision Equipment for in library use:

  • SuperBright LED Dimmable Magnifier Table Lamp
  • Magnifying Floor Lamp

Large Print Books

When print is just too small, try the Large Print book collection of fiction,  mysteries, inspirational fiction, westerns, and non-fiction books (Adult Services)

Audiobooks

CD and Playaways for young readers to adults. Large selection of fiction, mystery, inspirational fiction, young adult, juvenile and non-fiction audio-books.

Digital

Digital books from Libby and Boundless allow font size changes for easier reading on your computer, e-reader, phone or tablet. Apps also provide access to audio-books. How to get started

Talking Books Delivery Service

Illinois Talking Books Outreach Center provides a player and digitally recorded books at no charge, delivered to your home once a month. Anyone unable to read standard print due to a visual or physical disability is eligible. Books, magazines, and braille materials are all included with this service. www.illinoistalkingbooks.org
