PHENOMENON

Stainless steel sculpture by Fisher Stolz represents the physical and cognitive processes in the brain interacting with and responding to the tangible elements of our physical world. The Library Board chose this sculpture as a representation of the library’s vision. Private donations funded the purchase and installation.

GALACTIC COUPLE 2020

Spiral Formations on Kuiper Belt Bases. Metal Sculptor Orion Richey, of Creve Coeur, Illinois, creates rigid spiral sculptures – by cutting spiral patterns from plate steel then fabricate, machine, welding and paint. Part of the 2021/2022 Peoria Art Guild Sculpture Walk and gifted to the library by an anonymous donor.

MACRO PHOTOGRAPHY BILLBOARD

Funded by the Friends of the Library and endowment funds, this vibrant piece is on Broadway Street. Pekin native Jeremie Draper created glass work which was then photographed and enlarged to billboard proportions. The billboard will be exchanged for another local artist’s work after a few years of display.

COOL WAVE JAZZ

Greg DePauw was a Art Pop! Peoria 2015 People’s Choice Award winner for his 48′ x 12′ billboard. Now divided into sections and displayed in/around the Quiet Reading Room, one section of the piece is depicted here.

CLOUD DANCE

Created by Shelley Koenigs of Peoria, this piece was commissioned for the library lobby. Funded by a gift from Ed and Mary Bagley to FOL and donations to the library’s gift fund. (Depiction – piece is not shown here in its entirety)
